VIAJE
Rural Mexico, 1920, the time of the Revolution. Marie Echeagaray, 8, and her mother, Amelia, 30, find their lives catastrophically disrupted when Manuel, Amelia’s husband, is senselessly killed in a violent crossfire. Branded revolutionaries, Amelia and Marie must flee. They make their way north, through Mexico, and into America. Along the way they are beset with multiple physical and emotional challenges, not the least of which is keeping on despite shock, trauma, and the specter of the unknown.
